3 Card Poker

Premise

Caribbean Stud Poker was the first poker hand value-based casino game introduced to casinos that did not pit player versus player; poker hands are compared to the house’s hand instead of forcing players to compete against one another.

Summary of Rules

• 1 52-card deck is used
• There are two ‘main’ wagers in Three Card Poker-either or both bets allow the game to begin and are decided on different conditions as described below
• The player is dealt three cards from the deck
• The dealer is dealt three cards from the deck
• If the player placed an Ante bet, they must Fold or Play
• Folding will surrender the hand, including the Pair Plus bet if present
• The Play amount is equal to the Ante bet
• Standard five-card poker hand rankings are modified according to the table below
• The dealer qualifies with Queen high or better
• If the dealer does not qualify, the player will win even money on the Ante bet and the Play bet will be returned
• If the dealer qualifies, the player’s hand will be compared to the dealer’s hand
• If the player wins, the Ante and Play bets are paid even money
• If the house wins, the Ante and Play bets are collected by the house
• If the house and player have identical cards, the hand is a push and the Ante and Play bets are returned
• An Ante Bonus is paid for a Straight or higher regardless of the dealer’s hand value
• The Pair Plus bet is decided only on the value of the player’s hand.  The dealer’s hand value is not relevant to the Pair Plus bet

How to Play

Betting:
Chip values are displayed on the interface.  Click on a chip to ‘attach’ it to the mouse pointer and click on the betting circle to place a wager.  Repeat this process as many times and with as many different chips as needed to make up the desired wager.  There are two types of bets that can be used in Three Card Poker.  A game may be played with one, the other, or both bets according to the player’s wishes.
Click on the flashing circle to place an optional 1 bet that will enable payouts for the bonus bet.
Click on the ‘deal’ button to begin the hand.

Fold:
Selecting Fold surrenders all chips and cards for the hand.  Folding the Ante also folds the Pair Plus bet if present.  The fold option will not be offered to the player if the player’s only wager on the hand is the Pair Plus bet.

Play:
Selecting Play places an amount equal to the Ante bet on the layout and allows the player’s hand to be evaluated against the dealer’s hand if the dealer qualifies.
Hand rankings are based on, but not identical to poker hand rankings for five-card poker games.  In Three Card Poker, a Straight is valued higher than a Flush; Three of a Kind is valued higher than all hands except a Straight Flush.
Three Card Poker has two primary wagers.  The Ante/Play bet combination and the Pair Plus Bet.  The Pair Plus bet is based solely on the player’s three cards and pays according to the schedule shown in the Paytable section below.  The Ante/Play combination pits the player’s cards against the dealer’s hand as long as the dealer’s hand is contains at least Queen high.
